Water is essential to all aspects of life, yet 99 percent of water on Earth is unsafe or unavailable to drink. About 1.2 billion people globally lack safe water to consume and 2.6 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation.

According to a recent U.N. statistic it is estimated that there are at least 2 million people, most of whom are children that die annually from water-borne diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, guinea worm and hepatitis as well as such illnesses as malaria and West Nile virus carried by mosquitoes that breed in stagnant water. 
Many of the 10 million child deaths that occurred last year were linked to unsafe water and lack of sanitation. Children can't fight off infections if water-borne diseases weaken their bodies.

If action is not taken now, 135 million people could die of water-related diseases by the year 2020.

Empowerment Advocates International is drilling water wells around the world in places such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Madagascar.  In these countries we have established more than 300 water wells that are providing fresh clean drinking water for an estimated 15,000 people.   

Lives have been saved through the establishment of these water wells.

Through your help we have accomplished much but we can do so much more. For a gift of $2,000 we will establish a water well in the country of your choice. You can choose if you would like to establish a water well in Cambodia or Madagascar.  These countries are in desperate need of clean water as children are dying on a daily basis because of water borne disease. They need our help today! Just think you can invest today in saving the life of a child in a desperate land!

If you would like to establish a water well in partnership with EAI we will attach a plaque to the water well that states your name as the one who gave the gift and the date that the water well was given.  The plaque will read " Water for LIFE Project”, A gift given in partnership by John Smith and Empowerment Advocates International, 10/10/ 2010. We will then send you photos of the well being used by happy families and children who are celebrating the fact that they have clean water for the first time in their lives. 

Any gift large or small is greatly appreciated and you will receive a photo of the water well that you helped establish even if you were not able to sponsor the entire well.
